Aaron Newman is an artist, designer, and teacher known for his work with LEGO®. He has been building with LEGO since early childhood, transitioning from a general brand enthusiast to a full-time brick artist. His work encompasses diverse genres, including brick interpretations of icons, life-like replicas, fantasy creations, and product designs. Newman also uses LEGO to create social commentary pieces. He approaches each project with a focus on quality, ingenuity, and playability, designing from a home studio where he is surrounded by sorted LEGO elements.
In early 2020, Newman gained wider recognition as a contestant on the first season of the United States’ LEGO Masters. This appearance highlighted his building skills and artistic vision. Beyond LEGO Masters, his work has been featured on various platforms, including The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Netflix, and DisneyXD, as well as in news outlets and prominent LEGO fan blogs like The Brothers Brick and geek culture sites such as IGN. He is also a self-taught photographer, which aids in presenting his creations.
Newman has collaborated with international corporations, including Google and Salesforce, developing unique show pieces, leading interactive design sessions, and offering consultation services. He began taking commission build work in 2016, delivering custom LEGO creations to various clients. Newman studied theater at UCLA, an experience he believes instilled in him the importance of storytelling in art. He lives in California with his wife, Sarah.
