Adam Cayton-Holland is a national touring comic who has appeared on CONAN, WTF with Marc Maron, Comedy Central Presents, The Late Late Show with James Corden, @midnight, The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail, and more. He continues to perform as a headliner at various events and festivals.
Adam, along with his cohorts in The Grawlix, created, wrote, and starred in 'Those Who Can’t,' which aired for three seasons on truTV. The trio also hosts the podcast 'The Grawlix Saves the World.'

Adam Cayton-Holland, born on June 2, 1980, started his career in stand-up comedy at open mic nights in Denver in 2003. His early talent was recognized in 2006 when he won Comedy Works’ New Talent showcase. By 2012, he was named one of Esquire magazine’s “25 Best New Stand-Up Comedians” and made a cameo on the ABC series “Happy Endings.” His national stand-up debut on ‘Conan’ occurred in 2013, followed by appearances on ‘The Pete Holmes Show’ in 2014 and multiple guest spots on ‘@midnight,’ including a win in September 2014. These early achievements laid the foundation for a career that blended comedic performance with writing and production.
A significant milestone in Cayton-Holland’s career was the formation of The Grawlix, a Denver-based comedy trio alongside Ben Roy and Andrew Orvedahl. This collaboration led to the creation, writing, and starring roles in the sitcom “Those Who Can’t” for truTV, which aired for three seasons from 2016 to 2019. The Grawlix also launched “The Grawlix Saves the World” podcast in 2020. Beyond his comedic endeavors, Cayton-Holland has established himself as a writer. Before his comedy career, he worked as a journalist for Denver’s alt-weekly ‘Westword’ from 2003 to 2008, contributing a column titled “What’s So Funny?” His writing has been featured in publications such as Spin, The Onion’s A.V. Club, The New York Times, Esquire, and The Atlantic. In 2018, he published his memoir, “Tragedy Plus Time: A Tragi-Comic Memoir,” which received the 2019 Colorado Book Award for Creative Non-Fiction.
Cayton-Holland is also the founder and executive director of the High Plains Comedy Festival in Denver, which he co-launched with Andy Juett in 2013. This festival showcases both local and national comedic talent. He has performed at prestigious venues like The Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall. His discography includes several comedy specials, such as “I Don’t Know If I Happy” (2013), “Backyards” (2015), “Adam Cayton-Holland Performs His Signature Bits” (2018), “Semblance of Normalcy” (2020), and “Wallpaper,” the latter also released as a filmed special. In 2019, he adapted his memoir into a one-man play called ‘Happy Place,’ which debuted at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, earning him a 2019 True West Award from the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
