Adam Dovile’s career began with a strong foundation in building. From a young age, he demonstrated an affinity for hands-on work, taking on summer jobs on worksites during high school to learn the basics. Following a pre-apprenticeship, he pursued and completed an apprenticeship. Demonstrating a proactive approach to his career, Dovile worked multiple jobs, including in his family’s pizza shop, a local supermarket, and delivering flowers, to save money. This early dedication allowed him to acquire his own home by the time he was qualified, setting a precedent for his future strategic career progression. He further honed his skills and business acumen by establishing a small carpentry business before pursuing a larger building company, understanding the importance of incremental growth and managing administrative aspects.
Dovile gained widespread recognition in 2014 when he and his wife, Lisa, won the Channel 7 renovation show “House Rules.” This victory was a significant turning point, raising his public profile and opening new opportunities. In 2015, he joined the cast of “Better Homes and Gardens” as the resident builder, replacing Rob Palmer. This role allowed him to share his extensive building and DIY knowledge with a national audience. His contributions to the show were acknowledged in 2016 when he received a Logie Award for Best New Talent. He has continued to be a staple on “Better Homes and Gardens” for nearly a decade, undertaking projects both locally and internationally, such as filming in Ireland.
Beyond his television work, Adam Dovile maintains his passion for building through his companies, ASD Constructions and R.E.B Homes, managing select building projects.
