Adrianita Avila is a professional salsa dancer, born in Cali, Colombia, a city widely recognized as the “Capital of Salsa.” Her career began formally as a teenager, where she met her dance partner and future husband, Jefferson Benjumea. Their professional collaboration started approximately six years later, establishing them as a prominent duo in the global salsa dance scene. Avila has achieved significant milestones in competitive salsa dancing, including victories in the World Salsa Open, World Salsa Summit, and World Latin Dance Cup, underscoring her consistent performance at the highest levels of the sport.

Her career trajectory reached an international audience through her participation in Season 4 of the NBC television show World of Dance, produced by Jennifer Lopez. Alongside Jefferson Benjumea, Avila showcased their distinctive Colombian Salsa style, as well as versatility in other dance forms such as cha-cha-cha, samba, and rhumba. Their performances on the show garnered attention, leading to an Emmy nomination for Best Choreography.
