Adrianne Palicki was born on May 6, 1983, in Toledo, Ohio. Her father, Jeffrey Palicki, has Polish and Hungarian heritage, and her mother, Nancy Lee (née French) Palicki, has English and German ancestry. She graduated from Whitmer High School, where she participated in basketball and track, and was a homecoming queen runner-up. Palicki did not begin acting on stage until her sophomore year of high school. In her early career, she made guest appearances on several television series, including “Smallville” in 2004 as Kara/Lindsay Harrison, and “Supernatural” from 2005 to 2009 as Jessica Moore. She also appeared in the unsold pilot for “Aquaman” in 2006.
Palicki gained significant recognition for her role as Tyra Collette in the NBC drama series “Friday Night Lights,” appearing as a series regular from 2006 to 2009, and later returning for the final two episodes in 2011. This role was a pivotal point in her career, establishing her presence in dramatic television. Following this, she took on roles in films such as “Legion” (2010), “Red Dawn” (2012), and “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” (2013), where she played Lady Jaye. In 2014, she starred in “John Wick” as Ms. Perkins, further expanding her filmography with action-oriented roles. In 2011, she also portrayed Wonder Woman in an NBC television pilot that was not picked up for a series.
From 2014 to 2016, Palicki joined “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” in a recurring capacity, later becoming a principal cast member as Bobbi Morse. This role led to a spin-off pilot, “Marvel’s Most Wanted,” which was not developed into a full series. More recently, she starred as Commander Kelly Grayson in Seth MacFarlane’s science fiction comedy-drama, “The Orville,” from 2017 to 2022. In addition to acting, Palicki co-wrote the comic book “No Angel” with her brother, Eric, in 2016. She continues to work in upcoming projects, including the films “The Wolf and the Lamb” and “Remote.”
