Al Madrigal

Al Madrigal is a versatile comedian, actor, writer, and producer known for his extensive work in stand-up, television, and film, including his role as a correspondent on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.” After receiving a jury award for Best Stand-Up Comedian at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colorado in 2004, Al Madrigal secured a talent holding deal with CBS, marking a pivotal moment in his career as a versatile comedian, actor, writer, and producer. Madrigal transitioned to full-time comedy in 1998, establishing his unique style in San Francisco’s comedy clubs and as part of the sketch group Fresh Robots. His early career saw significant milestones with appearances at SF Sketchfest in 2002 and the ‘New Faces’ showcase at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal that same year.

He became a series regular on NBC’s ‘About a Boy’ from 2014 to 2015, a role for which he received an Imagen Awards nomination. Subsequently, he was a series regular on Showtime’s ‘I’m Dying Up Here’ from 2017 to 2018. His acclaimed stand-up special, ‘Shrimpin’ Ain’t Easy,’ premiered on Showtime in 2017, lauded by ‘Rolling Stone.’ His film credits include significant roles in ‘The Way Back’ (2020) and the Marvel action film ‘Morbius’ (2022). In 2015, Madrigal was honored with the Mixed Remix Festival Storyteller’s Prize for his compelling narrative work.
