Alan Day

Alan Day, born and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts, began his journey in music during his high school years. In 2001, while attending Doherty Memorial High School, he co-founded the pop-punk band Four Year Strong alongside Dan O’Connor, Jake Massucco, and another musician. Initially contributing as a guitarist and vocalist, Day, along with O’Connor, was also involved in bass duties from 2001 to 2004. The band’s early years saw the release of several EPs, including ‘All The Lonely Girls,’ ‘The Glory EP,’ and a three-track demo in 2004, laying the groundwork for their distinctive sound. Their debut studio album, ‘It’s Our Time,’ was released digitally in 2005 through Open Your Eyes Records. Day’s musical career progressed steadily with Four Year Strong, which gained significant recognition with their 2007 album, ‘Rise or Die Trying,’ peaking at number 31 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. This success led to a signing with Decaydance Records in 2008 and Universal Motown Records in 2010, marking a period of increased visibility and touring both nationally and internationally. He continued to shape the band’s musical direction, contributing to their unique blend of pop-punk and hardcore punk, often described as ‘easycore.’

Beyond his work with Four Year Strong, Alan Day has expanded his professional endeavors into music production and composition, maintaining his own music platform. He consistently engages in creative collaborations and production projects. A notable turning point in his career development beyond music involved establishing an entrepreneurial venture with his wife, Emily, in the agricultural sector. This initiative, ‘Al’s Christmas Trees,’ began in 2014, initially selling Christmas trees in Watertown and later expanding to Worcester. This led to the acquisition of Bell Brook Farm in West Brookfield, transforming it into a joint flower and Christmas tree farm. This venture showcases Day’s diverse interests and abilities, balancing his commitments as a touring musician with direct involvement in local business and community development.

Throughout his career, Day has maintained a connection to his roots in Worcester, Massachusetts, actively participating in local business and contributing to the community’s evolving landscape. His dedication to both music and entrepreneurship reflects a multifaceted approach to his professional life. His current projects include ongoing music production and recording with Four Year Strong, with their latest album, ‘Analysis Paralysis,’ released in August 2024. He continues to perform and tour, demonstrating a sustained commitment to his musical craft while also overseeing his agricultural business endeavors.
