About

Albert Daniels, known professionally as Albe Back, has established a multifaceted career in entertainment, encompassing acting, music, and spoken word poetry. His journey began behind the scenes as a teenage production assistant on music video shoots in New York, working with director Chris Robinson. This early experience in the industry led to his on-screen debut when Robinson cast him in the 2006 film “ATL,” where Daniels co-starred as ‘Brooklyn.’ Concurrently, Daniels immersed himself in the spoken word community, becoming a regular at the Nuyorican Poets Café in New York and Da Poetry Lounge in Los Angeles. This aspect of his career was highlighted in the award-winning documentary “SP!T” (2006), directed by Rotimi Rainwater, where he shared his perspective on finding solace and self-discovery through poetry. He was also featured on HBO’s “Def Poetry Jam,” further solidifying his reputation as a poet.

Daniels transitioned into producing and conducting “The One Minute Show,” a collection of web shorts that launched in 2010 in partnership with Creative Control TV. After the initial season, his multimedia company, JusBe, took over management and production of the series, which features one-minute interviews with various public figures including Bridget Barkan, Stalley, Angie Martinez, Dame Dash, and Ski Beatz. His acting career continued with a role as a snippy school kid in “The New Edition Story” in 2017. That same year, he played the character AB in the 2Pac biopic “All Eyez on Me.” In 2018, Daniels appeared in Joshpen Khan’s feature film “BODIED”, which screened at Sundance, playing the role of ‘Opening Battle Shot Buyer.’

Beyond his visual media and spoken word contributions, Daniels is also a recognized rapper within the New York music community. He has performed as an opening act for artists such as Lauryn Hill, Rakim, De La Soul, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, and Mobb Deep. He has also contributed to songwriting for prominent artists including Kanye West, Mos Def, and Dead Prez. Currently, Daniels is working on his debut album, “Walkman,” which is slated to be the first release on Robot Sound Co., a label owned by Chris Robinson.
