Albert King

Albert King was named the ACC Men’s Basketball Player of the Year during the 1979–80 college season, a testament to his dominance in one of college basketball’s most competitive conferences. His exceptional skills were evident from an early age at Fort Hamilton High School, where he was recognized as one of the nation’s top high school players. During his senior year, King was rated the top prep player nationally over future legends like Magic Johnson and Gene Banks, earning him a spot on the inaugural McDonald’s All-American team in 1977. At the University of Maryland, his impressive performances led to him appearing on the cover of Sports Illustrated twice during the 1980 season.

After a decorated career spanning collegiate, NBA, and international basketball, King successfully transitioned into the business world. Leveraging his discipline and strategic acumen honed on the court, he became a multiple Wendy’s franchise owner, demonstrating his ability to excel in entrepreneurial ventures beyond the athletic arena.
