Alex Beresford

Alex Beresford was born on October 17, 1980, in Bristol, England. His early career at ITV began in August 2004, where he started as a teleprompter operator for ‘The West Tonight’. In 2005, he retrained and transitioned into a weather presenter role. His dedication led to him presenting the national ITV Weather starting in November 2007. Following the restructuring of ITV West, he moved to ‘The West Country Tonight’ on ITV West Country in February 2009. Beresford also expanded his television work beyond weather forecasting, hosting a three-part series for Channel 4 titled ‘The World’s Weirdest Weather’ in April 2013, and a four-part series called ‘Britain’s Most Extreme Weather’ in April 2014.

Beresford became a familiar face on ITV’s breakfast programming. He initially joined ‘Daybreak’ as a stand-in weather presenter for Laura Tobin in March 2012, later continuing this role when the show was replaced by ‘Good Morning Britain’ in 2014. From August 2020, he began guest presenting ‘Good Morning Britain’ and co-presented the weekly topical magazine series ‘All Around Britain’ starting in September 2020. A notable moment in his career occurred in March 2021 when his on-air exchange with Piers Morgan regarding Meghan Markle’s interview led to Morgan walking off the ‘Good Morning Britain’ set, drawing significant media attention to Beresford’s direct engagement on important social issues.

In March 2022, Beresford left his position at ITV West Country to take on a new role as a live weather presenter for the extended ‘ITV Evening News’, broadcasting from the main studios in London and occasionally from other UK locations. Beyond his presenting duties, Beresford participated as a contestant in the tenth series of ‘Dancing on Ice’ in 2018. He is also actively involved in community projects, running a Diversity School Tour Project aimed at discussing media careers with students in inner-city schools and being selected for a national role model program for young black men.
