Dylan Dreyer

Dylan Marie Dreyer was born on August 2, 1981, in Manalapan Township, New Jersey. She developed an early interest in meteorology and attended Manalapan High School, where she also participated in softball. Her academic pursuits led her to Rutgers University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in meteorology in 2003. During her time in college, Dreyer gained early professional experience through an internship at WeatherWorks, a private consulting company in Hackettstown, New Jersey, laying the groundwork for her broadcasting career.

Dreyer’s career progression included roles at several local television stations before joining NBC News. She worked at WICU-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania, WJAR in Providence, Rhode Island, and WHDH in Boston, Massachusetts. In September 2012, Dreyer joined NBC News, quickly becoming a prominent figure. She serves as a co-host for the 3rd Hour of TODAY and is a frequent weather correspondent and fill-in anchor for both Today and Nightly News with Lester Holt. She also contributes to The Weather Channel and hosts the educational nature program _Earth Odyssey with Dylan Dreyer_ on NBC.

Over the years, Dreyer has covered significant events, including the 2017 Kentucky Derby and the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. In 2022, she took on the role of hosting the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Beyond her on-air duties, Dreyer has ventured into publishing, authoring the picture-book series Misty the Cloud, which combines her meteorological expertise with her experience as a mother.
