Alisha Debora Lehmann, born on January 21, 1999, in Tägertschi, Switzerland, began her football journey at the age of nine with FC Konolfingen, followed by BSC YB Frauen at 12. She played with both boys’ and girls’ teams during her youth, showcasing early dedication to the sport. Lehmann transitioned to her senior professional career with BSC YB Frauen at 17, quickly establishing herself as a prolific scorer. In her inaugural season, she achieved a hat-trick against FC Staad in a 3-0 victory and finished as the team’s top scorer with nine goals. She accumulated 25 goals in 52 league appearances during her tenure with the club.
In August 2018, Lehmann moved to West Ham United in the newly professional FA Women’s Super League, a move influenced by her performances at the 2018 U-19 European Championship. During her time at West Ham, she scored nine goals in 30 appearances across all competitions and played a key role in the team reaching the FA Cup final in 2019, scoring an equalizer in the semi-final against Reading. Her consistent performances earned her contract extensions and a nomination for the BBC Super League Young Player of the Season for the 2019–20 season. Following a loan spell at Everton in 2021, where she made eight appearances and scored one goal, Lehmann joined Aston Villa, continuing to contribute significantly with 58 appearances and 9 goals before a brief stint at Juventus in 2024-2025, where she scored on her Serie A debut. She then signed with Como in August 2025 on a three-year contract, where her career continues.
Lehmann’s impact extends beyond the pitch through her significant social media influence, where she advocates for the growth and popularity of women’s football. She has openly addressed skepticism regarding her glamorous on-field appearance, stating, “I want young girls to know that you can play football even with long nails and makeup. I like wearing heels, but I’m still a professional.” Her message emphasizes authenticity and self-acceptance in professional sports. As of 2025, she is recognized as the world’s most-followed women’s footballer on Instagram. In November 2024, she became a manager for one of the 12 teams in the Baller League UK, having previously won the inaugural German version with Streets United.
