Andy Daly

Born on April 15, 1971, in Mt. Kisco, New York, and raised in New Jersey, Andy Daly laid the foundation for his career by graduating from Ithaca College. He moved to New York City and became an integral part of the early Upright Citizens Brigade Theater scene, studying long-form improvisation and performing in notable shows like “The Real Real World” and “The Swarm.” His talent in sketch comedy was recognized early, leading to his appearance at the 1999 Aspen Comedy Festival as one-half of the duo “The Two Andys.” These early experiences shaped his distinct performing style, characterized by a blend of earnestness and humor.

Daly’s career progressed through significant roles in television, film, and voice acting. He joined the cast of MADtv in 2000, initially as a featured player and then as a full cast member for its sixth and seventh seasons. A pivotal role came with the Comedy Central series “Review” (2014-2017), where he starred as Forrest MacNeil, and also served as an executive producer and writer. His work on “Review,” which he co-adapted from an Australian series, garnered critical acclaim. In film, he took on diverse roles, including courtside announcer Dick Pepperfield in “Semi-Pro” (2008), Mayor Brown in “Yogi Bear” (2010), and a mailroom worker in “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” (2011). His voice acting resume features characters in popular animated series such as “Rick and Morty,” “Bob’s Burgers,” and “Harley Quinn.”

Beyond his visual performances, Daly has cultivated a strong presence in the audio world, particularly in podcasting. He launched “The Andy Daly Podcast Pilot Project” on Earwolf in 2014, which continued with a second season in 2018. A notable character from his podcasting work is Dalton Wilcox, the “Poet Laureate of the West,” who gained popularity through various platforms, including “Comedy Bang! Bang!” and his current podcast, “Bonanas for Bonanza.” Daly consistently contributes his comedic talents as a guest star across numerous television shows, including “Modern Family,” “Silicon Valley,” “Veep,” and “Night Court,” with his role as Fred Norton in a 2024 episode of “Night Court” being a recent highlight. His sustained involvement in a wide array of projects demonstrates his enduring appeal and adaptability in the entertainment industry.
