Aneurin Barnard

Aneurin Barnard is a Welsh actor recognized for his diverse roles across film, television, and theatre, establishing himself through performances in various acclaimed productions. After earning significant critical acclaim for his role as Melchior in the London premiere of the Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening, Aneurin Barnard went on to win the esteemed Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical in 2010. The acclaimed production, which opened at the Lyric Hammersmith in February 2009, later transferred to the Novello Theatre, cementing his reputation in theatre. Transitioning to screen, Barnard appeared as a teenager in HTV Wales’s Jacob’s Ladder and made guest appearances in television series including Doctors, Casualty, Shameless, and Y Pris.

Most recently, Barnard starred as Ryan in The Catch (2023) and filmed the BBC television feature Men Up (2023). In 2024, he joined the cast of Doctor Who as Roger ap Gwilliam, continuing his diverse and impactful career across film and television.
