When fans think of British actress, Annabelle Wallis, many think of her roles in period dramas like BBC’s Peaky Blinders (as Grace Burgess) and Showtime’s The Tudors (as Jane Seymour).
Growing up in Portugal, Wallis starred in numerous short films until she ultimately moved to London to pursue bigger projects. Soon enough, she was acting in blockbuster films such as Body of Lies and X-Men: First Class, as well as major network shows like ABC’s Pan Am alongside Margot Robbie.
Wallis also made a name for herself in horror when she starred as Mia Form in the wildly successful Annabelle. She went on to reprise her role in the sequel, and she received her first MTV Movie Award nomination. She then followed up with another box office smash, acting opposite of Tom Cruise in The Mummy. For this role, she performed nearly all of her own stunts. One of her most critically-acclaimed roles was in the Golden-Globe-nominated mini-series, The Loudest Voice. The Chicago Sun Times called her performance “heartbreakingly powerful work.”
In addition to film and television, Wallis has exercised her acting chops in more unique projects. For example, she played Princess Buttercup in Quibi’s recreation of The Princess Bride with other high profile celebrities in order to raise money for the World Central Kitchen during coronavirus. Along with that, she also lent her voice to a project for the USS Discovery, allowing them to use her voice for their computer, “Zora.” She even starred in Coldplay’s music video, “Hymn for the Weekend.”
Outside of acting, Wallis does some modeling. In fact, in 2018, the highline jewelry brand, Cartier, named Wallis the new face for their watch, the Panthère de Cartier.
