Annisa Larasati Pohan, better known as Annisa Pohan, was born on November 20, 1981, in Boston, Massachusetts. She is the second of three children born to Aulia Pohan and Mulyaningsih. Her father served as a former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Indonesia. Pohan spent several years in Tokyo, following her father’s career, before residing in Jakarta from elementary school through high school. She pursued higher education, earning an economics degree from Padjadjaran University in Bandung and a master’s degree in Management from the University of Indonesia.
Pohan began her career in the entertainment industry at the age of fifteen in 1997, participating in the Gadis Sampul teenage model search where she placed as second runner-up. This early achievement led her to a role as a radio announcer at Oforz Radio. Her career progressed into television, where she became a presenter for various programs such as Sport RCTI, Bundesliga, La Liga, Celebrity Jam, and Good Morning on the Weekend. Her versatility and ability to connect with audiences across different platforms contributed to her prominence in Indonesian media.
Beyond her professional media career, Annisa Pohan is recognized for her social advocacy. In 2009, she co-founded the Tunggadewi Foundation with friends. This foundation is dedicated to empowering women and children through educational initiatives and informal learning centers, including projects like Rumah Pintar (Smart House) and Jendela Dunia (Window on the World). The foundation’s name, inspired by a wise and just queen from the Majapahit Kingdom, reflects its mission to foster well-being through empowering women and enhancing education within the community. Pohan married Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, the eldest son of former President of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, in 2005. They have one daughter, Almira Tunggadewi Yudhoyono, born in 2008.
