United States Antonio Sabato Jr. rose to prominence as a Calvin Klein model and soap opera actor, subsequently expanding his career into reality television, film production, and political activism.
Antonio Sabàto Jr. first gained attention as a Calvin Klein underwear model in the 1990s through groundbreaking campaigns, becoming one of the most recognizable faces of the brand.
In 2013, Sabato Jr. was named the international celebrity spokesperson for AnastasiaDate, an online mail-order bride website.
In 2016, Sabàto was contracted to be a Chippendales dancer for a special engagement in June at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Antonio Sabato Jr. was born on February 29, 1972, in Rome, Italy. His father, Antonio Sabato Sr., was an Italian film star, and his mother, Yvonne, was of Czech-Jewish descent. In 1985, Sabato Jr. moved with his family to the United States and became a naturalized citizen in 1996. He attended Palisades Charter High School in Los Angeles. Sabato Jr. first gained significant public attention in the early 1990s as an underwear model for Calvin Klein, following an appearance in Janet Jackson’s “Love Will Never Do (Without You)” music video in 1990. His modeling success led to acting opportunities, marking the beginning of his career in entertainment.
Sabato Jr.’s acting career began with a role as Jagger Cates on the soap opera ‘General Hospital’ from 1992 to 1995. He also appeared in the science fiction series ‘Earth 2’ and the prime time soap opera ‘Melrose Place’ during this period. Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he featured in numerous TV movies and direct-to-video films, and had a supporting role in the 1998 feature film ‘The Big Hit’. From 2005 to 2006, he played Dante Damiano on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’, and reprised his role as Jagger Cates in ‘General Hospital: Night Shift’ in 2008. His television appearances also include ‘Bones’ (2010), ‘The League’ (2013), and ‘Castle’ (2013).
Beyond acting, Sabato Jr. participated in reality television shows, winning NBC’s ‘Celebrity Circus’ in 2008 and competing in ‘Dancing with the Stars’ in 2014, where he finished in 8th place. He hosted the home remodeling show ‘Fix It & Finish It’ from 2014 to 2016. In 2016, he appeared as a Chippendales dancer for a special engagement in Las Vegas. Sabato Jr. ventured into politics, running unsuccessfully as a Republican for U.S. Congress in California’s 26th district in 2018. More recently, he announced plans to establish Trail Blazers Pictures, a film studio focused on conservative content, with an upcoming film titled ‘Trail Blazers’ set for release in 2022. He moved to Florida in 2020 and works for a construction company.
