Areil Putri Tari, known professionally as Ariel Tatum, is an accomplished Indonesian actress, model, and singer. Born into a family with deep artistic roots, Ariel’s mother is the daughter of Citra Award-winning actress Joice Erna, while her father is the son of Murry, a member of the iconic music group Koes Plus.
Ariel’s career in entertainment began at the tender age of eight when she appeared in a Unilever Lifebuoy shampoo advertisement in 2004. This marked the start of a series of television advertisements, showcasing her talent and charm. Her big-screen debut came in 2005 with the family musical drama “Ariel dan Raja Langit,” directed by Harry Dagoe Suharyadi.
In addition to her acting prowess, Ariel explored her musical talents. In 2012, she performed a duet with Ari Lasso on the song “Karena Aku Telah Denganmu,” which became a hit. Her musical journey continued with singles like “Tanpa Kata” in 2016 and “Sampai Mati” in 2019, the latter of which she wrote herself. She continued to make waves in the film industry with roles in “Selesai” (2021), directed by Tompi, and “Sepeda Presiden” by Garin Nugroho, where she portrayed Binar. Additionally, she starred as Fatimah in Mouly Surya’s war drama “Perang Kota,” adapted from Mochtar Lubis’s novel “Jalan Tak Ada Ujung.”
