Arizona S. Zervas, born on April 19, 1995, in Providence, Rhode Island, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He began his musical journey by releasing his first song during his eleventh grade year. His debut single, “Don’t Hit My Line,” was released in 2016. This was followed by a consistent output of over 30 songs, nearly all of which achieved 1 million streams on Spotify as an independent artist. In 2018, he released his debut three-song EP, “Living Facts,” further establishing his presence in the music scene.
Zervas gained significant recognition with his song “Roxanne,” released on October 10, 2019. The track quickly became a viral sensation, reaching number 1 on Spotify’s United States Top 50 chart on November 8, 2019. This achievement was notable as it was the first time an unsigned and fully independent artist topped this chart. The success of “Roxanne” led to a bidding war among record labels. In November 2019, Zervas signed with Columbia Records, a major turning point in his career. This signing positioned him as the second viral star to be signed by Columbia Records that year, following Lil Nas X. “Roxanne” also charted internationally, topping the charts in New Zealand and reaching the top ten in the UK, Australia, and several other countries.
Following his breakthrough with “Roxanne,” Arizona Zervas continued to release new music. On May 8, 2020, he released the single “24,” and later that year, on September 25, 2020, he released “RIP.” His debut studio album, “Wild West,” was released independently on July 14, 2023. This album entered the US Apple Music charts, demonstrating continued fan engagement and his ability to maintain an independent presence while also working with a major label. Throughout his career, Zervas has performed over 50 shows across the United States, including a performance at Webster Hall in New York.
