The wonderful Arlo White is a sports broadcaster, commentator, and host. He is the commentator for Chicago Fire of the MLS and for the LIV Golf league. He previously worked as the lead football commentator for NBC Sports on their English Premier League and Olympics coverage, and prior to that was at BBC Radio 5 Live. Fans of Apple TV’s sports sitcom, Ted Lasso, will also be familiar with his voice as he commentates on the matches played by the show’s fictional team AFC Richmond.
Born and raised in Leicester, White began his broadcasting career in 2000 having gained experience covering non-league football for BBC Radio Derby. In 2001 he started presenting BBC Radio 5 Live’s Sport on Five and was the station’s sports reporter for Five Live Breakfast. He started covering cricket in 2005, and later on covered American Football. In 2010 he became the commentator for Seattle Sounders FC of the MLS in the United States, and by 2012 he was working for NBC Sports for their MLS and US national team coverage. He has also covered the Olympics, the US women’s national team, and from 2013 the English Premier League for American audiences. In 2020 he became the main commentator for Chicago Fire FC of the MLS, and for the LIV Golf tour.
