Kendall Wright launched a decorated athletic career by earning second-team Class 3A All-State honors in football, where he rushed for 1,069 yards and passed for 1,170 yards, contributing to 24 touchdowns in his senior year. Excelling in multiple sports, he was named 2007 East Texas Player of the Year in basketball, averaging 24.5 points, six rebounds, five assists, and five steals per game. Wright further demonstrated his prowess in track and field, capturing the Texas Class 3A state long jump title in 2007 with a leap of 7.37 meters and the state triple jump crown with a leap of 14.81 meters the same year. He then set a state meet-record in the triple jump in 2008 with an impressive 15.48 meters.

He later had stints with the Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals before concluding his professional career with the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League.
