Kendall Wright

Kendall Wright, born on November 12, 1989, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, established himself as a multi-sport athlete from an early age. Attending Pittsburg High School, he excelled in football, basketball, and track. In football, he played as both a quarterback and cornerback, earning second-team Class 3A All-State honors. His senior year saw him rush for 1,069 yards and pass for 1,170 yards, contributing to 24 touchdowns. In basketball, he was named 2007 East Texas Player of the Year, averaging 24.5 points, six rebounds, five assists, and five steals per game. Wright also achieved state titles in track and field, capturing the Texas Class 3A state long jump in 2007 with a leap of 7.37 meters and the state triple jump crown with a leap of 14.81 meters. He set a state meet-record in the triple jump in 2008 with 15.48 meters.

Wright continued his athletic career at Baylor University. As a true freshman in 2008, he led the team in receptions with 50, receiving yards with 649, and five touchdowns, setting new Baylor freshman records. He consistently performed as the team’s leading receiver, earning All-Big 12 honorable mention in 2009 and second-team All-Big 12 in 2010. His senior season in 2011 was particularly notable, as he recorded 108 receptions for 1,663 yards and 14 touchdowns, receiving First-team All-American and All-Big 12 honors. He holds Baylor’s career records for receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. Drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the first round as the 20th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, Wright’s professional career began with a four-year, $8.8 million contract.

Throughout his NFL career, Wright demonstrated consistent performance, particularly during his tenure with the Tennessee Titans. In his rookie 2012 season, he recorded 64 catches for 626 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns. His most productive NFL season came in 2013, where he tallied 94 receptions for 1,079 yards and 2 touchdowns, achieving his first career 100-yard receiving game against the Oakland Raiders and later a career-high 150 receiving yards against the Arizona Cardinals. After five seasons with the Titans, he played a season with the Chicago Bears in 2017, leading the team in receiving with 59 receptions for 614 yards and one touchdown. He also had stints with the Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals before concluding his professional career with the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League.
