Born on October 15, 1985, in Los Angeles, California, Arron Afflalo began his basketball journey early, attending Centennial High School in Compton. He quickly distinguished himself as a talented athlete, leading Centennial to a California Division III title as a senior in 2004. His exceptional performance earned him recognition as a five-star recruit, ranking as the No. 6 shooting guard and No. 26 player nationally by Rivals.com. Afflalo then committed to UCLA, where he further honed his skills and became a prominent collegiate player.

At UCLA, Afflalo’s career was marked by strong defensive play and consistent scoring. During the 2006–07 season, he was recognized as a consensus All-American and was voted the Pac-10 Player of the Year, averaging 17.4 points per game. He also set a school record for three-point field goals made in a season with 87. Notable moments included a game-winning three-pointer against Alabama in the 2006 NCAA tournament and being named the West Regional’s Most Outstanding Player in the 2007 NCAA Tournament. His college achievements laid the foundation for his professional career, which began when he was selected 27th overall by the Detroit Pistons in the 2007 NBA draft.

Afflalo’s NBA career spanned 12 years, playing for several teams including the Detroit Pistons, Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic, Portland Trail Blazers, New York Knicks, and Sacramento Kings. Throughout his career, he was known for his reliable shooting and defensive capabilities. A significant milestone occurred on December 3, 2013, with the Orlando Magic, where he scored a career-high 43 points. Afflalo consistently contributed offensively, maintaining a career average of 10.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game.
