Susanna Reid

Susanna Reid was born on December 10, 1970, in Purley, London, and grew up in Warlingham, Surrey. She pursued her education at the University of Bristol, where she studied politics and philosophy, and later at Cardiff University’s Centre for Journalism, earning a postgraduate diploma in broadcast journalism. Her career began in 1994 as a news producer at BBC Radio Bristol, and by 1996, she was a producer for Radio 5 Live. She transitioned to television, spending two years as a reporter for BBC News 24 before unexpectedly stepping into a presenting role. This unplanned opportunity led to a permanent position, even while she was three months pregnant with her first child, marking an early turning point in her extensive broadcasting career.

Reid became a central figure on BBC Breakfast, co-presenting from 2001 until 2014, notably with Bill Turnbull and Charlie Stayt. During her time at the BBC, she also presented *Sunday Morning Live* from 2010 to 2011 and frequently served as the newsreader for *The Andrew Marr Show*. A significant career milestone occurred in 2013 when she participated in the eleventh series of *Strictly Come Dancing*, finishing as a runner-up. In 2014, Reid made a high-profile move to ITV, becoming the lead presenter of the breakfast programme *Good Morning Britain*.
