The brilliant athlete Artem Dolgopyat is an artistic gymnast, who is a floor exercise specialist and is noted for triple back execution. He is an Olympic champion, a 2x European champion, a 2x World Championships medalist, and a 3x European Championships medalist.
Born and raised in Ukraine, and then from the age of 12 in Israel, Dolgopyat started gymnastics at a young age. By the time he emigrated to Israel with his family he was already a 2x national champion in Ukraine. He continued to train, compete, and improve, and then in 2017, when he was 20, he participated in the Maccabiah Games, claiming two Golds and a Silver. The same year he competed in his first World Championships, claiming Silver in the floor exercise.
Dolgopyat won his first European medal at the 2018 European Championships, claiming Silver in the floor exercise. He repeated the feat in 2019, as well as claiming Silver again at the World Championships. In 2020 he won Gold in Floor exercise and Bronze in vault at the European Championships, and won Gold for floor exercise at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics the following year. In 2022 he once again claimed Gold in the floor exercise at the European Championships.
Dolgopyat regularly connects with his legions of followers and fans through Instagram, posting pictures and videos of his life around gymnastics.
