Artem Dolgopyat

Artem Dolgopyat is an artistic gymnast who achieved Olympic and World Championship titles, transitioning from a childhood passion in Ukraine to representing Israel on the global stage. After securing his first gold medal in the floor exercise at the Grand Prix Osijek in Croatia and his inaugural Israeli Championship title in floor exercise in 2015, Artem Dolgopyat emerged as a leading figure in artistic gymnastics. Representing Israel, he continued his rapid ascent in 2017, earning two gold medals in floor exercise and pommel horse, alongside a bronze in vault, at the Maccabiah Games in Israel. That same year, Dolgopyat achieved a historic silver medal in the floor exercise at the 2017 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Montreal, Canada, setting a record for the best Israeli result ever in the championships at that time.

The pinnacle of Dolgopyat’s career began in 2020 when he became a European champion, winning gold in the floor exercise and adding a bronze in the vault at the European Championships in Mersin. Later that year, he made history at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, winning Israel’s first-ever Olympic gold medal in gymnastics in the floor exercise, an unparalleled achievement for the nation. Building on this success, Dolgopyat secured another gold medal at the 2022 European Championships in Munich, reaffirming his status as a reigning European champion in his signature event. Artem Dolgopyat’s impressive career continued to new heights in 2023, where he earned his first World Championship title in the floor exercise at the World Championships in Antwerp.

Most recently, he added to his Olympic medal count with a silver in the men’s floor exercise at the 2024 Paris Olympics, further cementing his legacy as one of the most decorated artistic gymnasts on the global stage.
