Austin Reaves was born on May 29, 1998, in Newark, Arkansas, USA. He attended Cedar Ridge High School before playing college basketball at Wichita State and later at Oklahoma. Reaves went undrafted in 2021 but was signed by the Los Angeles Lakers on a two-way contract, marking the beginning of his professional basketball career. He quickly transitioned to a regular contract with the Lakers in September 2021.
