Avishag Semberg has established herself as a formidable force in taekwondo, transitioning from a promising youth athlete to an Olympic medalist and European champion. After achieving a bronze medal at the World Taekwondo Championships in Burnaby, Canada in 2016 in the 46 kg weight class, Avishag Semberg has solidified her position as an elite competitor in taekwondo. Her early career saw her secure consecutive gold medals at the Israel Cadets Open in 2012, 2013, and 2015, alongside a silver medal at the Croatia Open in 2014. Semberg continued to demonstrate her prowess with a bronze at the European Youth Championships in 2017 and a gold at the Israel Senior Open the same year.
In 2023, she added a silver medal from the European Clubs Senior Championships (53kg) to her extensive collection of accolades. Avishag Semberg continues her trajectory of excellence into 2024, securing gold medals at both the Austrian Open (53kg) and the European Taekwondo Qualification Tournament (49kg), further solidifying her status as a world-class athlete. Semberg maintains a demanding training schedule, typically engaging in three sessions daily, totaling six to eight hours, under the guidance of coach Yechiam Sharabi at the Sharabi Martial Arts club in Ramla. Her rigorous regimen focuses on taekwondo techniques, gym work, and flexibility, meticulously preparing her for elite competition on the international stage.
