B. Hawk Snipes

B. Hawk Snipes, born and raised in New York City, developed an interest in creative expression early in life. They attended Fiorello LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, focusing on dance and art. Following high school, B. Hawk Snipes pursued further education at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), where they earned an Associate’s Degree in Fashion Design. This foundational education in both performing arts and fashion laid the groundwork for their multifaceted career.

Their career progression includes early appearances in television, such as the MTV reality show “Friendzone” in April 2012. B. Hawk Snipes then transitioned into more prominent acting roles, notably appearing in the Emmy award-winning show POSE (Seasons 1-3) on FX Network from June 2018 to 2021, portraying the character Bebe Pendavis and as a Runway Contestant for 8 episodes. In September 2015, they took on hosting responsibilities for “The Face That Changed It All” by Beverly Johnson at AFROPUNK for PinnedXStitched, and later for the Shawn Outen Event in July 2016. In 2017, they played Perry, a hair salon owner, in the SLAY TV series “Love at First Night.”

Beyond their acting and hosting work, B. Hawk Snipes has been recognized for their influence in fashion and activism. They have been featured in publications such as NY Times Fashion, Nylon, Wmag, NY Post, AFROPUNK, Vogue, NY Mag/The CUT, and GQ for their distinctive style. Their commitment to social activism led to them receiving The Fighter Award at the 35 HEIR GALA in 2018 and being honored for Community Empowerment at the Rainbow Fashion Week in 2014. B. Hawk Snipes joined The BTFA Collective as an original member in 2019, where they serve as Digital Communications Lead, contributing to the organization’s mission to promote Black trans liberation through art.
