Baroness Mone of Mayfair has built a career as an entrepreneur spanning various sectors, including lingerie, interiors, jewellery, property, and technology. After co-founding MJM International in 1996, Baroness Mone of Mayfair launched the groundbreaking Ultimo lingerie brand at Selfridges department store in London in August 1999. Her innovative concept for a comfortable, cleavage-enhancing bra led to securing a European license for a novel silicone material, quickly expanding the Ultimo brand to include backless dresses and shapewear, which significantly contributed to MJM International’s growth. Prior to her entrepreneurial ventures, Baroness Mone established a strong foundation in marketing, rising to head of marketing in Scotland for Labatt brewing company within two years.
Her contributions to business and education were acknowledged with an honorary doctorate from Paisley University in 2002. Baroness Mone continues to be recognized for her career spanning diverse sectors, including lingerie, interiors, jewellery, property, and technology.
