Barry William Blenkhorn was born on September 30, 1954, in Santa Monica, California. From a young age, he expressed a strong desire to enter show business, taking acting lessons and performing in commercials. At age 11, he officially changed his name to Barry Williams. His early career included guest appearances in notable television series such as “Run for Your Life” (1965), “Here Come the Brides” (1968), “It Takes a Thief” (1968), “Marcus Welby, M.D.” (1969), and “Mission: Impossible” (1966). These roles provided a foundation for his breakthrough.
Williams rose to prominence with his iconic role as Greg Brady in the highly successful family sitcom “The Brady Bunch” (1969-1974). Following the show’s initial run, he expanded into musical theater, performing in productions like “Pippin,” “West Side Story,” “Oklahoma,” and “Grease.” He continued to make television appearances in shows such as “Police Woman” (1974), “Three’s Company” (1976), “Highway to Heaven” (1984), and “Murder, She Wrote” (1984).
