Beck Bennett has transitioned from sketch comedy to mainstream acting, lending his versatile skills to both comedic roles and voice work in animated productions.
Bennett starred in the immensely popular "It's Not Complicated" campaign for AT&T, a series of ads in which he played the wry, deadpan moderator of a focus group populated by precocious children. The ads became very popular, leading to multiple additional campaigns, including a March Madness edition co-starring basketball legends. This campaign established Bennett as a cherished ad star.
Bennett partnered with Walmart as the Walmart+ Week "Savings Spokesperson" for an exclusive members-only event, featuring special offers and discounts.
Since 2023, Bennett has been the voice of Hank the Buffalo in Buffalo Wild Wings commercials, taking on a recurring voice role for the brand.
Christopher Beck Bennett was born on October 1, 1984, in Wilmette, Illinois. He developed an early interest in performance, participating in multiple shows at the Children’s Theatre of Winnetka. Bennett graduated from New Trier High School in 2003, where he played Jean Valjean in a school production of *Les Misérables*. He further honed his acting skills at the USC School of Dramatic Arts, earning a BFA in Acting.
Bennett’s career began to flourish through his involvement with the improv/sketch group Commedus Interruptus, which he joined in 2003 alongside fellow future *SNL* cast member Kyle Mooney. In 2007, he co-founded the sketch comedy group Good Neighbor with Mooney, Nick Rutherford, and Dave McCary. This group gained notable recognition, including praise from director Steven Spielberg for their *Hook* parody, *Unbelievable Dinner*. In 2011, Bennett created *Fresh Perspectives*, a satirical political talk show, which helped him secure a prominent role in AT&T’s “It’s Not Complicated” advertising campaign. The popular series of ads featured Bennett as a deadpan moderator interviewing precocious children, leading to widespread recognition.
His increasing visibility led to his debut on *Saturday Night Live* as a featured player in its 39th season in 2013, where he gained a significant following for his diverse characters and impressions, most notably Vladimir Putin. He was promoted to repertory status for *SNL*’s 41st season in 2015 and remained a cast member until 2021. Beyond *SNL*, Bennett has undertaken various film and television roles, including voice work as Launchpad McQuack in the *DuckTales* reboot (2017-2021) and Hamster in Disney Channel’s *Hamster & Gretel* (2022-2025). His film credits include roles in *Sing* (2016), *Nimona* (2023), and the upcoming *Superman* (2025).
