Ben Berman

Ben Berman is a director, producer, and editor with a career spanning over a decade in television and independent film. He gained early experience as an editor for the comedy duo Tim and Eric, contributing to “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!” from 2007 to 2010. This foundational work in unconventional comedy informed his directorial style as he transitioned into directing television series. From 2012 to 2015, Berman directed 61 episodes of “Comedy Bang! Bang!” and later helmed episodes for “Man Seeking Woman” (2015), “Lady Dynamite” (2016-2017), and “Flaked” (2017).

Berman’s work extends into documentary filmmaking, highlighted by his 2019 feature debut, “The Amazing Johnathan Documentary.” This film premiered at Sundance, was acquired by Hulu, and showcased his ability to blend comedic elements with observational storytelling. He also directed and executive produced the short film “How to Lose Weight in 4 Easy Steps” (2016), which premiered at Sundance. His recent directorial projects include “An Evening with Tim Heidecker” (2020) and episode direction for ESPN’s “30 for 30” series in 2023, where he also served as executive producer.
