Beren Saat was born on February 26, 1984, in Ankara, Turkey. She pursued her education at TED Ankara College Foundation Schools and later, Başkent University, though she left to pursue acting. Her career began after she participated in the acting competition “Türkiye’nin Yıldızları,” where she was the first runner-up and subsequently discovered by director Tomris Giritlioğlu. Her early work included a minor role in the 2004 TV series *Aşkımızda Ölüm Var* as Nermin, followed by her first major role as Zilan Şahvar Azizoğlu in *Aşka Sürgün* (2005–2006).
Saat gained significant recognition for her portrayal of Yasemin Ünsal in the ATV series *Hatırla Sevgili* (2006–2008), which explored political events of the 1950s–1970s. Her international breakthrough came with the Kanal D romantic drama *Aşk-ı Memnu* (2008–2010), where she starred as Bihter Yöreoğlu Ziyagil. Her performance in this series, particularly the final episode, garnered critical acclaim and led to her winning two Golden Butterfly Awards, marking her as the first actress to win consecutively. Following this success, she tackled the challenging role of Fatmagül Ketenci Ilgaz, a rape victim, in the social drama *Fatmagül’ün Suçu Ne?* (2010–2012), a role for which she sought psychological support.
