Berenice Wicki

Berenice Wicki, born on September 24, 2002, in Ennetbaden, Switzerland, established herself early in the competitive snowboarding circuit, particularly in halfpipe. Her career began with notable success, including a victory in the women’s halfpipe #1 event at the 2015–16 FIS Snowboard Europa Cup #13 in Davos. This early win set the stage for her progression in the sport, demonstrating her potential in a demanding discipline. She continued to develop her skills, gaining experience in various competitions before reaching broader international recognition.

Wicki’s career includes significant milestones at both junior and senior levels. She earned a gold medal at the 2017 FIS Snowboarding Junior World Championships in Laax. She also competed in subsequent Junior World Championships, ranking 6th in Cardrona in 2018 and 5th in Leysin in 2019. In 2019, she secured another victory at the FIS Snowboard Europa Cup #19 in Crans-Montana in the women’s halfpipe event. These performances highlighted her consistent presence and competitive ability in the sport. These experiences contributed to her advancement to elite competitions.

Her Olympic journey started with the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics, where she secured a bronze medal in the girls’ halfpipe event with a score of 81.33. She then represented Switzerland at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, where she placed 7th in the women’s halfpipe event. Wicki also participated in the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships, finishing 17th in 2021 and 8th in 2023 in the women’s snowboard halfpipe event. Her performance at the 2022 Winter Olympics underscored her position among international halfpipe snowboarders.
