Big D and Bubba host a nationally syndicated country music radio show, recognized for their consistent presence in morning radio and multiple industry awards. After establishing their dynamic radio partnership on December 16, 1996, at WXCT in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Big D and Bubba swiftly gained industry attention. Their collaboration led to a significant deal with AMFM Broadcasting in February 1999 to host mornings and nationally syndicate their show, marking a pioneering achievement as no country morning show had achieved sustained national syndication before. Following AMFM Broadcasting’s acquisition by Clear Channel Communications in March 1999, Patrick Thomas joined the team as Executive Producer, a role he held until 2023.
The Big D & Bubba Show returned to the Nashville airwaves on WKDF on October 18, 2021, and continues to broadcast on over 100+ country music FM radio stations, globally via the American Forces Network, and through its dedicated app and popular podcast. Their consistent excellence earned them further ACM ‘National Daily On-Air Personality of the Year’ awards in 2014 and 2022, alongside the Country Music Association ‘Daily National Broadcast Personality’ award in 2015. Most recently, Big D and Bubba received their fourth Academy of Country Music ‘National Daily On-Air Personality of the Year’ award in 2024. Their ongoing success will see them move to Cumulus Media sister station 95.5 WSM in June 2025.
In recognition of their significant contributions and enduring impact on country radio, Big D and Bubba are scheduled for induction into the prestigious Country Radio Hall of Fame on July 21, 2025. Their program remains a staple for listeners, celebrated for its blend of comedy, entertainment, and lifestyle discussions across its vast audience.
