Brandon Christopher Jacobs was born on July 6, 1982, in Houma, Louisiana. He attended Assumption High School in Napoleonville, Louisiana, where he excelled in both basketball and football. In his senior year, he achieved significant recognition, including USA Today All-America honors and being named Louisiana Class 4A Most Valuable Offensive Player, having rushed for over 3,000 yards and scoring 38 touchdowns.
Jacobs’ college football career began at Coffeyville Community College, where he demonstrated his talent by rushing for 1,349 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2001, and an impressive 1,896 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2002, earning JUCO All-American honors. He then transferred to Auburn University, playing alongside notable talents, before concluding his collegiate career at Southern Illinois University. At Southern Illinois, he led the team with 992 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns in one season, further solidifying his prospects for the NFL.
He was drafted by the New York Giants in the fourth round (110th overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft. During his tenure with the Giants from 2005 to 2011, and again in 2013, Jacobs became a foundational player, contributing significantly to two Super Bowl victories (XLII and XLVI). He finished his NFL career with 5,094 rushing yards and 60 rushing touchdowns over 109 games, also playing one season with the San Francisco 49ers in 2012.
