Brandon Knight

Brandon Emmanuel Knight was born on December 2, 1991, in Margate, Florida. He attended Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he was recognized for his academic and athletic achievements, holding a 4.3 GPA. During his junior and senior years in high school, he averaged over 31 points per game and led Pine Crest to two state championships in 2008 and 2009. Knight earned consecutive Gatorade National Player of the Year awards in 2009 and 2010, and the Gatorade High School Athlete of the Year award in 2010. He concluded his high school career as a two-time Florida Mr. Basketball recipient and the second-highest scorer in Florida high school basketball history with 3,515 points. Following his decorated high school career, Knight played one season of college basketball at the University of Kentucky, where he averaged 17.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists across 38 games. He set Kentucky freshman records for points scored (657), 3-pointers made (87), and most 20-point games (14), earning First-Team All-SEC honors.

Knight was selected eighth overall in the 2011 NBA draft by the Detroit Pistons. In his rookie season, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team, becoming the first Pistons rookie since Grant Hill in the 1994-95 season to receive this honor. After two seasons with the Pistons, he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in July 2013. During his tenure with the Bucks, Knight demonstrated strong offensive capabilities, leading the team in scoring and assists in his first season. He notably achieved his first career triple-double in November 2015 while playing for the Phoenix Suns, with 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 15 assists against the Los Angeles Lakers. Over his nine-year NBA career, Knight played for the Detroit Pistons, Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Dallas Mavericks.

Following his NBA career, Knight transitioned to international basketball. In March 2023, he signed with the Piratas de Quebradillas of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) in Puerto Rico. His performance during the 2023 season earned him both the BSN Most Valuable Player Award and the BSN Scoring Champion title, averaging 24.4 points, 5.2 assists, and 3.2 three-pointers per game. In February 2025, Knight was traded to the Capitanes de Arecibo, continuing his professional basketball career in the BSN.
