Brandon Mychal Smith gained significant early recognition for his powerful portrayal of Tayshawn in the Emmy Award-nominated television movie The Ron Clark Story (2006), a performance that earned him both a Family Television Award and a Young Artist Award in 2007. Prior to this, Smith secured his first national commercial for Nike alongside Tiger Woods and took on roles such as Li’l Danny Dawkins in Disney Channel’s Phil of the Future and a recurring role as Mario in Unfabulous.
