Luke Pell grew up on a ranch in Burnet, Texas, where early influences included football and the music of Garth Brooks, which he studied extensively. He attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point on a full scholarship for football. During his five years of service in the army, including a deployment to Afghanistan, Pell developed his passion for music. He chose Fort Campbell in Kentucky for his army base due to its proximity to Nashville, allowing him to pursue songwriting on weekends and after work. It was during these trips that he also discovered Eric Church, who became another musical inspiration.
After leaving the military as a captain, Pell initially pursued a corporate job as an engineer for an oil company. However, his dedication to music persisted, leading him to move to Nashville, Tennessee. He collaborated with songwriter Brandon Kinney and worked on developing his musical career. In the years that followed, Pell gained public recognition through his appearances on reality television, specifically on the 12th season of “The Bachelorette” and later on “The Bachelor Winter Games” on ABC. These television roles brought him into the public eye, but his focus remained on his musical aspirations.
Pell released his self-titled debut EP, which amassed nearly two million streams on Spotify, featuring a blend of anthemic country and rock influences. In 2017, he performed 90 live shows and completed a successful cross-country “Hometowns and Highways Tour” with Logan Mize in 2018, selling out multiple shows in cities like Chicago and Des Moines. Pell continues to develop his music career, emphasizing authenticity and commitment to his roots. His professional journey reflects a trajectory from military leadership to entertainment.
