Bryan Greenberg

Bryan Greenberg was born in Omaha, Nebraska on May 24, 1978, and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. His early career began at age seven when he appeared in the Omaha Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker. At age 12, after his family moved to St. Louis, he secured his first major role in a Cookie Crisp cereal commercial. He later graduated from Parkway Central High School in 1996 and then from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre in 2000. While attending NYU, Greenberg worked various jobs including waiter, bartender, and assistant to a mortgage broker, while also performing in theater productions and acquiring an agent.

Greenberg’s acting career progressed with a small role in Law & Order in 1997, followed by a big-screen debut in A Civil Action (1998). He gained wider recognition for his recurring role as Jake Jagielski in The WB series One Tree Hill (2003–2006). His first starring film role was in Prime (2005), where he acted opposite Meryl Streep and Uma Thurman. He also starred in the HBO series How to Make It in America (2010–2011) and ABC’s October Road (2007–2008). Other film credits include Bride Wars (2009) with Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway, Friends with Benefits (2011) alongside Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake, and You People (2023) with Jonah Hill, Eddie Murphy, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Beyond acting, Greenberg is also a musician, releasing his debut album “Waiting for Now” in 2007, and a second album, “We Don’t Have Forever,” in 2011. His music has been featured in his television and film work. He expanded his creative pursuits to directing and writing, making his directorial debut with the film Junction (2024), in which he also starred and produced. His continued presence in television includes recurring roles on The Mindy Project (2016–2017) and The Tick (2017–2018). In 2024, he joined the cast of Suits LA as Rick Dodsen, a role he describes as a “dream job.”
