Buddy Murphy

Buddy Murphy is an Australian professional wrestler known for his impactful career in WWE and AEW, showcasing his athleticism and in-ring prowess. After beginning his professional wrestling career in 2007 under the ring name Matt Silva, Buddy Murphy quickly achieved success in Australia. He captured the Professional Championship Wrestling (PCW) State Championship in 2010 and the Melbourne City Wrestling (MCW) World Heavyweight Championship in 2012, holding the latter for an impressive 293 days. In 2013, Murphy signed a developmental contract with WWE, joining its NXT brand.

In February 2022, Matthews made his highly anticipated debut for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) as a key member of the House of Black faction. His tenure with AEW saw him become an AEW World Trios Champion in March 2023. Matthews also continued to achieve success beyond major promotions, returning to Melbourne City Wrestling to win his second MCW World Heavyweight Championship at The House Always Wins event, further demonstrating his consistent elite performance. In 2022, he also received the prestigious MCW Ballroom Brawl award.
