Byron Garrett

Byron Garrett currently serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer at United Way Worldwide (UWW), where he leads the organization’s revenue diversification strategy, develops government partnerships, and drives program growth across the United States and internationally. In this pivotal role, he also holds direct oversight of the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP), underscoring his influence in scaling critical social impact initiatives. Prior to his tenure at UWW, Garrett held the position of President and CEO of the National Job Corps Association, where he was a key advocate for policy and funding impacting over 100 youth campuses across the U.S. He also served as Chairman of the National Family Engagement Alliance from January 2018 to May 2024.

Earlier in his career, he contributed to public service as a Human Relations Commissioner for the City of Phoenix and previously as Director of Educational Leadership & Policy for Microsoft. Garrett’s extensive career also includes serving as CEO of the National PTA, a prominent organization dedicated to child advocacy. He was also the first Chief of Staff for the Office of Public Affairs at U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

His leadership and contributions have been honored with inclusions on Ebony’s Power 150 Most Influential Black Americans and Black Enterprise’s Modern Man 100 list.
