Calvin Johnson

Calvin Johnson, known as ‘Megatron,’ is an American former professional football player who left an indelible mark as a wide receiver for the Detroit Lions and has since become a cannabis industry entrepreneur. After being selected second overall by the Detroit Lions in the 2007 NFL Draft, Calvin Johnson went on to establish himself as one of the most dominant wide receivers in league history, earning the moniker ‘Megatron.’ Prior to his NFL career, Johnson had an impactful collegiate tenure with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets from 2004 to 2006, where he set freshman records with 48 catches, 837 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns in 2004. He further distinguished himself by earning first-team All-American honors in 2005 and winning the Fred Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s outstanding college football receiver in 2006. Johnson concluded his college career holding Georgia Tech school records for career receiving yards (2,927), single-season receiving yards (1,202 in 2006), career receiving touchdowns (28), and career 100-yard receiving games (13).

Foundation, Inc. in 2008, a non-profit dedicated to supporting at-risk youth through education and training programs. The foundation hosts an annual ‘Catching Dreams’ camp for high school wide receivers, providing mentorship and skill development. In 2023 and 2024, Johnson re-engaged with the Detroit Lions organization, attending team practices and supporting the team at playoff games, highlighting renewed ties with the franchise where he built his legendary career.
