Cameron Douglas was born on December 13, 1978, in Santa Barbara, California, USA, to actor Michael Douglas and Diandra Morrell. He is the grandson of legendary actors Kirk Douglas and Diana Douglas. His early life was immersed in the film industry, leading to his acting debut in 1997 in Jackie Chan’s “Mr. Nice Guy.” This early exposure set the stage for a career that would later include significant roles alongside his family members.
Douglas gained notable attention for his role as Asher Gromberg in the 2003 film “It Runs in the Family.” This project was particularly significant as it brought together three generations of the Douglas family on screen, including his father Michael, and his paternal grandparents Kirk and Diana. Following this, he took on the lead role of Adam in “National Lampoon’s Adam & Eve” in 2005 and appeared in “Loaded” in 2008. His career progression continued with a role as DJ Mojo in the 2009 short film “The Perfect Beat.”
After a period of personal challenges, Douglas returned to acting in 2016. He has since appeared as Danny Engel in the 2019 short film “Dead Layer” and played Detective Wall in “The Runner” (2021). His recent work includes the role of Mike Axum in “Wire Room” (2022) and Cole in the upcoming film “Looking Through Water” (2025), which is currently in post-production. Beyond acting, he authored the book “Long Way Home,” detailing his experiences and recovery journey after his conviction on drug charges, highlighting a significant turning point in his life.
