Chanel Terrero

Chanel Terrero Martínez was born on July 28, 1991, in Havana, Cuba, and moved to Olesa de Montserrat, Catalonia, Spain, at the age of three. From a young age, she pursued training in singing, acting, and ballet, studying under choreographers such as Víctor Ullate, Coco Comín, and Glòria Gella. At sixteen, she began her professional career in musical theatre, which laid the foundation for her diverse artistic path. Her early career saw her relocate to Madrid to further her acting aspirations.

Throughout the 2010s, Terrero gained significant experience in major stage productions, appearing in musicals including “Mamma Mia!”, “Flashdance”, “El guardaespaldas”, and “El rey león”. She also branched into television and film, taking on various roles both in Spain and internationally. As a dancer, she showcased her skills by performing with global artists, including Shakira at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2010, and as part of the dancing crew on the Spanish show “Tu cara me suena”. Her talent was further acknowledged when she was a finalist for the role of Anita in both the Spanish stage production and Steven Spielberg’s film adaptation of “West Side Story”.

A turning point in her career came in 2022 when she participated in Benidorm Fest with her debut single “SloMo”. Her performance, choreographed by Kyle Hanagami, who has worked with artists like Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears, led her to win the competition and represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy. She achieved third place at Eurovision with 459 points, marking Spain’s best result since 1995. Following this success, “SloMo” topped the Spanish Singles Chart and earned a triple platinum certification. Her subsequent singles include “Toke” (2022), the official song for the Spain national football team during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and “Clavaíto” (2023), a collaboration with Abraham Mateo that achieved quadruple platinum status. In 2024, she released her debut album, “¡Agua!”, which debuted at number one on the Spanish Albums Chart. Terrero continues to expand her career, performing at major festivals and serving as a judge on television singing competition series such as “Cover Night”.
