With an abundance of victories and awards under his belt, Chris Cole has truly made his mark on the world of skateboarding. A two-times X Games gold medal winner, the skateboarder’s team, Zero, were victorious in Thrasher Magazine’s “King of the Road” on three consecutive occasions. Voted in top place in Transworld Skateboarding magazine’s “Reader’s Choice”, he was named Thrasher Magazine’s Skater of the Year on two occasions in both 2005 and 2009, a feat only achieved by one other skateboarder (Danny Way). His most recent sponsor is Zero Skateboards in September 2020, and in 2020 he was also sponsored by GoPro, Cult Crew, Monster Energy, Thunder Trucks, Fallen Footwear, Indian Motorcycles, Kershaw Knives and Spitfire Wheels amongst other brands.
Hailing from Statesville, North Carolina, Cole moved to Philadelphia at a young age and began skateboarding. He rose to prominence after he completed several difficult tricks, most notably a Backside flip, Switch Frontside flip and a Backside 360 ollie down Philadelphia’s Love Park fountain. In 2015 Cole became a member of Plan B Skateboards.
Cole is also a successful business owner who is a former shareholder of the Zero skateboard company and co-owner of Reign Skate Shop based in Philadelphia. He is also a keen BMX rider and co-owns Cult BMX company.
Cole has enjoyed an incredible career at the pinnacle of skateboarding and has earned his place as a legend, but in his own eyes his ultimate reward has been the time he has spent riding with his son Wyatt.
