Chris Parson is a multi-award-winning American voice actor best known for his many video game roles, including characters in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Red Dead Redemption 2, various Final Fantasy games, Grand Theft Auto V, Rango, and many others. He won awards for his work on Overwatch and also won awards for his voice work on the TV miniseries, Deutschland 86, and for his 2022 short film, A Cloud So High.
After graduating from the USC School of Cinematic Arts in 2001, Parson initially worked in artist management for Sony. When Sony suddenly laid him off, it prompted a career rethink, and Parson replied to an advert looking for voiceover artists. His first jobs included narrating “the making of” documentaries found in the extras on DVDs of hit movies such as The Fifth Element and The Pursuit of Happyness. He also voiced the lead character in Lil’ Bush, a satirical animated series based on a child version of then-US President, George W. Bush.
From 2008 onwards, Parson increasingly found work in video games with 007: Quantum of Solace and Red Faction: Guerilla proving to be early successes. He also became the voice of basic cable channel Syfy in 2009, a position he still holds today. He has also voiced occasional characters in legendary series such as Family Guy and American Dad! and continues to be a regular contributor to some of the biggest and most popular video games available today.
