An expert trend forecaster, Chris Sanderson is widely recognised as the creative director of Viewpoint, a global trend forecasting magazine, and is the co-founder and director of The Future Laboratory. Sanderson is dedicated to assisting businesses and organisations in developing strategies to thrive in an ever-evolving world. Sanderson has worked with an impressive list of prestigious clients, including American Express, The New Yorker, Nokia, British Vogue and Veuve Clicquot.
Sanderson initially studied as a theatre director and designer at Goldsmith’s College London, he then went on to work as a director in residence at the Palau de la Musica in Valencia. Before founding The Future Laboratory, Sanderson had built a portfolio of experience throughout his career. He was previously the UK communications director for Quicksilver and Vans and worked as a freelance creative director with several fashion brands. Sanderson lectures in visual communication at The London Institute and was contributing style editor at British Esquire. Sanderson is a compelling writer and writes a monthly column for The Luxury Briefing.
In 2004, Sanderson joined the British Council Creative Industries advisory panel. Sanderson has appeared on television, presenting Channel 4’s Future Family, a popular technology and trends show. Sanderson was appointed to sit on the Heimtextil’s Trend Table, which is one of the leading panels for forecasting upcoming trends in the textiles industry. His brainchild, The Fragrance Lab for Selfridges, was awarded Retail Week’s Best Pop-up and Overall Winner of the Retail Week awards in 2014.
