Chris Webber

Chris Webber is a five-time NBA All-Star and NBA Rookie of the Year who has transitioned from a professional basketball career to various ventures, including broadcasting, teaching, and entrepreneurship. After being selected as the first overall pick in the 1993 NBA draft by the Orlando Magic, Chris Webber was immediately traded to the Golden State Warriors, where he had an impactful rookie season, averaging 17.5 points and 9.1 rebounds per game, earning the NBA Rookie of the Year Award and a spot on the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 1994. During his collegiate career, he earned First-team All-American honors in 1993, and was recognized as USBWA National Freshman of the Year and Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 1992. His early basketball prowess was evident as he led Detroit Country Day School to three Michigan State High School Basketball Championships, was named National High School Player of the Year in 1990–1991, and Mr.

He further expanded his professional scope into academia, serving as a guest lecturer at Wake Forest University in 2016 and as a teacher at Morehouse College in 2021. His enduring impact on the sport was recognized with his induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021. Demonstrating his entrepreneurial acumen, Webber launched a private equity fund in 2021, dedicated to investing in minority-owned businesses within the burgeoning cannabis industry. This initiative was followed by the introduction of his premium cannabis brand, ‘Players Only,’ in 2022.
