Christian Braun

Christian Braun was born on April 17, 2001, in Burlington, Kansas. He attended Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland Park, Kansas, where he excelled in basketball, averaging 27.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game as a senior. His high school career culminated in three consecutive Class 6A state titles. For his achievements, Braun was honored as Mr. Kansas Basketball and Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year in 2019. He committed to play college basketball for the University of Kansas, choosing them over offers from other notable programs.

At the University of Kansas, Braun quickly made an impact. As a freshman, he earned Big 12 All-Freshman Team honors. His collegiate career was highlighted by a significant performance in the 2022 NCAA Division I championship game, where he contributed 12 points and 12 rebounds. He also played a key defensive role in the final possession, securing the championship for the Kansas Jayhawks. Following this success, Braun declared for the 2022 NBA draft, foregoing his senior season, and was selected by the Denver Nuggets as the 21st overall pick.

Braun’s professional career with the Denver Nuggets began in 2022. In his rookie season, he became a key role player, contributing to the Nuggets’ 2023 NBA Finals victory against the Miami Heat. This achievement made him the fifth player in basketball history to win both an NCAA and an NBA title in back-to-back seasons.
