Christian Lee Navarro was born on August 21, 1991, in the Bronx, New York City, and is of Puerto Rican descent. His entry into acting began during high school after participating in a play. His first professional acting credit was a guest role on “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” in 2007. This early experience in television marked the start of his career in the entertainment industry.
Navarro continued to build his acting portfolio with roles in various television series, including “Blue Bloods” (2013), “Taxi Brooklyn” (2014), and “The Affair” (2014). He also appeared in the pilot for the “Rosewood” TV series in 2015. A recurring role in the HBO series “Vinyl” in 2016 further developed his presence in television. The year 2017 brought his breakthrough role as Tony Padilla in the Netflix series “13 Reasons Why,” a main role he maintained until 2020 across 49 episodes. Parallel to his television work, he appeared in films such as “Bushwick” (2017) and “Can You Ever Forgive Me?” (2018), with the latter being a highly critically acclaimed project receiving a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. In 2018, he received the Rising Star Award at the San Diego International Film Festival, acknowledging his growing recognition in the industry.
More recently, Navarro expanded into voice acting and production. In 2023, he joined the web series “Critical Role” as a guest player for 8 episodes, and in 2024, he took on a main role as Verek Firesong (voice) in the podcast series “Godkiller: Balance,” also serving as a producer. His work on “Godkiller: Oblivion” earned him a nomination for “Best Player Character Performance in an Actual Play (Podcast)” at the 2024 New Jersey WebFest. He has upcoming projects, including voicing Hector in the video game “Date Everything!” in 2025 and acting as Fernando in “The Set Up” podcast series in 2025, where he also holds an executive producer credit.
